Letter from the PrincipalLetter from the Principal(es)

randy-webDear Devonshire Families,

My name is Randy Steinkamp, and I am honored to be the principal of Devonshire School.

My educational career began as a fourth grade teacher in the Clay County School District in Orange Park, Florida. After teaching for four years in Florida, I moved back to my home state of Illinois and took a fifth grade teaching position with Bloomington School District 87. While I was teaching in Bloomington, I also served as our school’s Assistant to the Principal, and it was during this time that I became convinced that I wanted to be a school administrator.

I was offered the position as the Assistant Principal at Devonshire School for the 2000-2001 school year and served in that capacity for one year. The following year, I was selected as the principal of Devonshire School and have served in that role since that time. My time at Devonshire has been a source of great pride for me. During my tenure, the State Board of Education has selected us as an Academic School of Excellence on multiple occasions. For me, the key to any successful school is to develop productive partnerships between the staff, the students, the parents, and the community and that has been my focus as the principal of Devonshire School.

I am excited about the future of Devonshire School as we continue to try to meet our district’s vision of Preparing Students to be Successful for Life. If you have specific questions about our school, or if you would be interested in taking a tour of the building, please feel free to contact me at 847-593-4398.

Sincerely,

Randy Steinkamp

Principal, Devonshire School
