Devonshire School is located in Des Plaines, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago. It is one of fourteen schools that comprise Community Consolidated School District 59. Devonshire was first built in 1963, but has remained a state-of-the-art facility due to multiple renovations over the past several decades.

Devonshire has a student enrollment of approximately 430 students. Our student population is richly diverse, which is one of the strengths of our school. It allows our students to accept and value the differences in others, and helps us to create a school environment where we are all learning from each other. To meet the needs of our diverse student population, we offer a Dual Language program for our Spanish-speaking students, and an ESL program, which provides instruction in English for students with a second language.

In addition to the core academic program, students at Devonshire also have the opportunity to be involved in extracurricular activities as well. These programs include our S.H.O.W. Club (Students Helping Our World), Band, Orchestra, Safety Patrol, Art Appreciation, and Girls on the Run, to name a few. We feel that student participation in extra-curricular activities is an important component of the elementary school experience, and helps to contribute to a positive school community.

As a school, we are very proud of what Devonshire offers to our community, and we remain firmly committed to continuing to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of our students.
