  • Read Aloud: We started a new text called, “Out of My Mind”.

Home connection: Ask your child to tell you about the main character, Melody.

  •  Reading: This week we will be examining character and setting descriptions in narrative texts.

Home Connection: When reading a text with your child have them share the character traits of the main or supporting characters.

 Social Studies: Students will be getting a deeper understanding of Thanksgiving by looking at the pilgrims’ and Indians’ point of view hundreds of years ago.

Home Connection: On Thanksgiving, have them explain why we are off of school and celebrating this day.

  • Grammar: Last week we discussed past tense verbs.  This week we will be learning about adjectives, and the importance they play in a text.
